Custom Drapery Panels and Rods

It may surprise you to find out how many options there are with custom draperies. From the different designs which can include ring top, grommet drapery panels, French pleat and rod pocket curtains to the different fabrics that can include floral, sheers, stripes, harlequin designs and more, there are a host of options that allow you to make your custom drapes unique.

Options are not limited to simply the drapery. There are many different kinds of rods to choose from. Wood, art deco, wrought iron metal, just to name a few. Finding the perfect rod to go with the drapery that will match your home perfectly is a very exciting thing. Look for drapery sewn in the United States to support our economy.

Draperies are designed with the fullness built into it. This not only adds an attractive look to it but also makes measuring more convenient. To measure for your drapery, all you need to do is measure the area that needs to be covered. The fullness of draperies is approximately double the size of each panel.

You usually are unable to get the rod included in the drapery package, however, if you upgrade you are usually able to get the liners which normally do not come with the drapery. There are two basic kinds of liners. There are the liners that are designed to keep a room lit by letting in some sunlight while retaining privacy. Then there are the liners that are designed to block out as much of the light as possible. These types of liners are referred to as blackout liners and can actually assist with heating and cooling costs and help in noise reduction.

Drapery panels are designed to fit perfectly on drapery rods. Contingent on personal taste, there are a few differences in finishes that you can choose. Some drapery panels have fabric attached which creates a flowing look. Others take advantage of drapery rings that cling to the drapes or that can be sewn in. There are many types of drapery rods to choose from; among the choices is the rod pocket drapery. This drapery is designed with a fabric pocket made for inserting the drapery rod and does not require the use of rings.

Many people choose the ring top style of drapery panels. For ring top styles there are two options; first, there is a style that features clips on drapery rings. The rings are attached to the top with the curtains using a special clip. Second, there is a style where the rings are sewn onto the top of the curtains and the rod is slipped through the rings. Every drapery panel comes with a sufficient number of rings.

Many people find the French pleat to be a classy look. French pleat panels are made by cinching the top part of the curtain together. Drapery clips are attached to the back side of the panels using a pin. With these clips, the drapery is hung. Metal grommet panels are a popular choice also. These are made with round metal grommets and the rod is fed through these to mount.

Many businesses that once were exclusively window blind suppliers are now expanding their line into the drapery business. Many customers will find that this creates a one-stop shopping experience. With the addition of custom drapery, many large windows can be instantly transformed into something of noteworthy beauty.
